The Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral

THE BUILDING

The Galveston S.R. Cathedral is a breathtaking structure, built in 1929 in an art-deco style by the Texas architect Alfred C. Finn, famed builder of the San Jacinto Monument. It is a testament to the fraternity's rich history and continuing legacy.

Egyptian Room

Our building is home to the famed Egyptian Room, adorned with masterful reliefs it is considered by many the most beautiful Masonic Lodge Room in the State of Texas and one of the most original, unique, and beautiful in the country.

The Theater

We also house a historically preserved four hundred seat vaudeville-era theater which features dozens of stunning and original one-of-a-kind theatrical backdrops, which can transport the viewer from ancient temples to medieval landscapes.
